Come join us for our December after hours reception, "Finding the Light" by local artist Lauren Brumbach. Brumbach explains, "This show is comprised of works gathered from my two distinct painting styles, abstract expressionism and realism. These particular pieces are drawn together by one common foundation - light. This body of work is constantly exploring and admiring light. Light is the reason we can see color! Light gives life to all things and light is a source of hope and a promise in dark times.
This selection of pieces includes some work with literal depictions of how light impacts us - how we see the word directly around us. Other pieces explore the feeling of metaphorical light - hope, peace and joy. Still others are a portrait of quiet moments where the soft and silent cascade of sunlight on simple objects is gently asking us all to slow down and allow this present space to be.
