Finding New Paths: Resilience and Entrepreneurial Thinking in the Arts

Following our announcement that Ignite Imaginations will be closing at the end of March 2025, this will be our final event and our 'goodbye' to Sheffield!

Finding New Paths is a forward-looking conference aimed at exploring and inspiring resilience in others, and encouraging entrepreneurial thinking within the creative community. In challenging financial times and a changing funding landscape, the arts sector is being called to reimagine its future. Throughout the day, we will explore innovative solutions, fresh models of working, and collaborative approaches that can empower artists, organisations, and cultural leaders to thrive.

This event is an opportunity to exchange ideas, share success stories, and brainstorm new ways of operating that emphasise adaptability, sustainability, and bold thinking. Whether you're an independent artist, a leader of an arts organisation, or a creative entrepreneur, the conference will provide you with actionable strategies and a renewed sense of optimism to reshape the future of the sector.

Together, let’s focus on the future and use our creative minds to spark the changes that will allow the arts to not only survive but flourish in new and exciting ways. We will end the day with an opportunity to network and say 'goodbye' to Ignite.

This conference is free of charge and open to all. It is expected to be particularly relevant to individuals in the creative, community, and charity/voluntary sectors, as well as those who are passionate about the arts in Sheffield and seek to network with like-minded individuals.

Whilst the conference is free to attend, we are asking for donations towards the lunch and refreshments provided. Donations can be made online here or in person on the day, thank you.

SPEAKER LINE-UP

As well as a welcome from Ignite CEO, Luisa Golob, we will be joined by a great line-up of local creatives and entrepreneurs:

• Linda Bloomfield of RivelinCo joins us to help set the context of the day in terms of the challenges being faced by cultural organisations and small charities.
• Jodie Marshall from A Mind Apart and Mantle, will lead us in exploring how we can mobilise the power of our creativity within the day-to-day running of our business
• Marina Larios of Inova Education & Training Ltd, joins us for a practical session on harnessing entrepreneurial thinking in charities and arts organisations.
