We welcome you all to a special screening of "Finding Carlton", directed by the talented Susheel J. Kurien.
Susheel passionately uncovers the story of jazz in India in this debut film, which takes us into the bygone age of jazz in India through the moving portrait of Carlton Kitto, one of its last survivors and a bebop guitarist. As we explore Carlton's isolated yet passionately dedicated existence, woven with archival material and poignant encounters with other artists, we begin to understand the story of cultural cross-pollination, from pre-war African-American diaspora to Jazz in Bollywood.
With a background in multi-media production and as an award-winning copywriter, Susheel brings a unique perspective to this captivating journey.
