About this Event
The conference
We are keen to share our experience of working with young refugees and migrants, and to learn from others interested in this area of work. With support from BBC Children in Need’s Million & Me initiative we are planning a one-day conference focusing on the mental health and education challenges faced by newly arrived young people.
We want this to be about practice into policy, not the other way round! So people with lived experience, and those working directly with newly arrived young people can interact with those involved in shaping local or national policies.
We are inviting around 80 participants from a wide range of organisations, including senior politicians, local authority migration managers and staff, regional migration teams, voluntary sector youth organisations, international bodies and academics. The day will include keynote speeches, discussion panels and an opportunity to discuss issues with colleagues around tables. The voices of young people will be present throughout the day. Booking will be through Eventbrite only.
Finding a Future will be free to attend. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there will be a chance to network with colleagues.
A summary report of the conference will be available after the event. We have engaged Citadel Policy and Communications to assist with the event, including parliamentary and media relations.
