About this Event

Whether you're a regular meditator or just looking to explore these wellbeing methods for the first time, we aim to provide a warm and welcoming experience for this session.

In these sessions we will focus on the breath, body and senses, learning to be kind to ourselves and trusting life more. We may also use visualisations, mantras and reading from helpful books. Discussion is often a part of the sessions, although there is no obligation to speak if you don't want to.

Mindfulness can help with stress, anxiety, concentration and relationship issues. It can help to ease physical pain and sleep problems. Its origins are in Buddhism, although there is no religious affiliation to these sessions.

Our faciitator is Tom George of Mindful Arts, an experienced wellbeing guide who has taught in a wide range of settings. In addition to mindfulness, Tom takes inspiration from spiritual traditions such as Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism, and teachers such as Eckhart Tolle and Mooji.

"Tom’s sessions are always well received, people comment on the empathetic way that the sessions are run and how much better they feel afterwards." - Lesley Davies, Sefton CVS

"The sessions are really accessible, many of our group members had never tried mindfulness before and were a bit sceptical at first, but Tom's calm and kind way of guiding people through short meditations is truly wonderful. I highly recommend Tom's sessions!" - Rosie Ashton, Faiths4change

"(Tom) adapts his sessions to meet member's needs. His simple, guided meditations are easy to follow...He is always ready to offer practical advice for overcoming everyday problems and negative mind states such as fear, worry and anxiety." - Attendee

For these sessions, we are fortunate to have the use of a comfortable room with armchairs and sofa, provided by Jo Edwards Training. We have tea and coffee making facilities. The venue is not wheelchair accessible, sadly.

The address is 47 Rodney St, Liverpool L1 9EW
