BookPeople will be hosting an exciting month-long scavenger hunt to find Waldo in twenty-five participating local businesses!
About this Event

Waldo, the iconic children’s book character, is coming back to Austin this July to spread the “Buy Local” message! Find Waldo Local is a creative and fun way to highlight all that’s wonderful about our local indie businesses.

BookPeople will be hosting an exciting month-long scavenger hunt to find Waldo in twenty-five participating local businesses. You can join the hunt by picking up a passport at any of the twenty-five businesses. Each business will have a six-inch Waldo standee to hide around their store. When you find Waldo, ask an employee to stamp your card for that location and head to the next store to find the next Waldo! If you fully complete your passport and bring it in at or before our Waldo Party, you'll be entered into a special raffle with prizes from us and other local businesses. If you get at least 10 stamps, you can bring your passport back for a prize!

Then on Saturday, August 1st, there’ll be a free and open-to-the-public Find Waldo celebration at our bookstore! See below for full details.

Find Waldo Local launched in 2012, and since then, hundreds of indie bookstores have hosted successful Waldo scavenger hunts across America. The local businesses that have participated have come to rely on the annual July event as an essential way to generate enthusiasm and grow their customer base.
