Financing Europe's Peatlands

This half-day event will bring together senior leaders from across the peatland finance ecosystem including institutional investors, corporate buyers, public finance institutions, and the European Commission to accelerate the transition of peatland restoration from a niche initiative into a recognised and investable asset class.

The event takes as its foundation the recently published report, , developed by the Landscape Finance Lab with EIB input and support. The Roadmap sets out a clear pathway for peatland restoration to move towards institutional-grade investment, and this event marks a critical next step in building the market infrastructure, partnerships, and momentum needed to realise that vision.

The workshop will include a range of speakers from the European Investment Bank, European financial institutions and peatland finance case studies.

The session is expected to include opening remarks by Ambroise Fayolle, Vice-President of the EIB and a range of speakers on the following topics:

• A presentation on the European Peatland Finance Roadmap
• A discussion on “What Will Unlock Large-Scale Peatland Investment”
• Spotlight on of 3-4 cases across the EU of peatland finance in action
• Interactive discussions: Refining the Peatland Finance Roadmap
• Closing discussion on implementation
