Financial Regulations

Please note this training session covers the Authority’s Corporate Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders. There are separate regulations for Schools and School based staff should contact their Schools Finance Support Officer for further details on training available.

Mandatory for all staff who have a financial / administrative role within their job (e.g. invoice processing, budget management, procurement, salaries and wage processing, income collection/banking, petty cash) or who are the authorising officers for such activities.

It is recommended that an update / refresher session on Financial Regulations is attended every 3/4 years or upon any policy change.

Course Aims

To provide an overview of financial regulations and contract standing orders. This course is currently not suitable for School Based Staff.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course you will be able to:

• Be aware of the existence of Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders and have access to a copy of each document
• Gain knowledge and awareness of Financial Regulations and their requirements and consequences, through training and support
• Provide a general overview of the key areas and requirements laid down in Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders
• Answer any questions or queries from delegates, relating to Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders
