Are you looking for a way to enjoy the longer evenings and warmer weather, then join us for the Final Friday Critical Mass bike ride.Get your biking gear ready! The 'Final Friday Critical Mass' is the perfect opportunity to hop on your bike and join the fun. It's a leisurely ride that welcomes people of all ages, abilities, fitness levels, and backgrounds. The best part? You get to celebrate and promote cycling and pedestrian infrastructure in our city while having a great time. The ride travels at a slow pace of six miles per hour or less, so you can take in all the sights and sounds. And don't worry if you're a beginner, no one will be left behind, ensuring inclusivity for all participants.
The event will be led by BikeWalkMHK, starting at the Riley County Courthouse at 7:00. At 7:30, a 2.5-mile loop will begin, starting between Downtown Poyntz, City Park, and Aggieville.
The concept is for people to ride in groups to enhance safety, inspired by the idea that there’s strength in numbers. Critical Mass events emphasize the desire of many to cycle on the streets safely, highlighting the need for improved road design that accommodates all road users, not just motor vehicles.
Following the ride, an informal gathering will allow participants to mingle and connect with others interested in active transportation within the community. While giving the group time to address important topics concerning cyclists in Manhattan.
