Music Monday x Films at The Forum: Wattstax

Join us for a special Music Monday x Films at The Forum event featuring a free screening of the legendary concert-film Wattstax.

Part music film, part historical record, Wattstax documents the 1972 Watts Summer Festival, which took place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Organized by Stax Records, the festival served as a benefit concert to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the 1965 riots that took places in the Watts community of Los Angeles.

Our Films at The Forum program brings free movie screenings to The Forum throughout the year, while Music Monday is a free monthly concert series hosted in our ground-floor Atrium.
