Ever wanted to learn or review your filming skills? Learn the basics of filmmaking with our annual filmmaker Bootcamp.
Have you always wanted to make your own videos? Do you want to direct? Do you have a story to tell and you want to learn how to? Do you need a refresher?
Then our Filmmaker Bootcamp is for you!
Take your filmmaking skills to the next level with this excellent 4-week class. This class is made up of theory and practice, as students learn the fine details of cinematography and directing from one of our community's most talented professionals.
Creating award-winning short content is not easy. But it can be done and in a month, you will have the tools to do so! Whether you are a filmmaker, actor, business owner, or media professional, this course will give you the ABC, of telling poignant stories, cinematically, and succinctly.
Join us for our next edition of the Filmmaker Bootcamp. Breakfast is included.
This 4-week workshop will teach you the steps of crafting stories with light, camera, movement, and actors. Each week, we will cover a specific topic where you can learn in-depth the ins and outs of the production process led by local filmmaker Freddy Rodriguez.

Class One- Directing 101 - Developing your Voice
Saturday, February 25th
Class Two - Directing 102 - Blocking & Composition
Saturday, March 18th
Class Three - Directing 103 - Pre-Production (script breakdowns, shot lists, and storyboarding)
Saturday, March 25th
Class Four – Directing 104 - Funding and Distribution (creating mood boards, attracting investors, entering film festivals, crowdfunding)

About our awesome instructor:
Freddy Rodriguez is an EMMY®, TELLY® and Promax/BDA award-winning filmmaker with numerous award-winning short films, music videos, commercials, promos, and documentary shorts among his credits.
He’s been writing, shooting, producing, directing and editing creative video content for over twenty years. Freddy’s short film “Malabar”, which was co-produced by Filmgate-Miami, is an “Official Selection” of the 2019 Miami Film Festival, where Freddy was named “One of five Miami filmmakers to watch” by the Miami NewTimes.

“Malabar” is also an “Official Selection” of the 2019 Orlando Film Festival, won the 2019 Jury and Audience Award at Filmgate-Miami's “Best of NOLA” film competition, and won La Bota Vaquera “Best Short” film prize at the 2019 Chihuahua International Film Festival.
“Malabar” was acquired by HBO and streamed on HBO and HBO Max from May 2019 to May 2021.
