Film screening: Workers' Films of the Thirties

Join us for a rare screening of this film, which covers the work of the 1930s Workers Film and Photo League. The film will be introduced by Ian Christie, film scholar and Professor of Film and Media History at Birkbeck, University of London.

The Workers Film and Photo League employed the camera as 'a weapon in the struggle' to represent working-class people's lives and their campaigns against poverty, exploitation and the rise of fascism.
