Join Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum for a look into the compelling history of Tapu Te Ranga Marae. Learn about the community through a documentary film screening, and hear the story told by Parehinetai Sannyasi, daughter of kaumatua Bruce Stewart and spokesperson for the marae. Tapu Te Ranga Marae: A Documentary is directed by Vanessa Patea and produced by Ruth Korver. The film was created over six years and released one year after the tragic fire at the marae.

Still living on the whenua with my whānau, we continue caring for our tāiao and revitalising te reo Māori me ōna tikanga within our whānau.’
