Film Screening: Land of Canaan
About this Event
This film focuses on themes of Palestinian land stewardship, regenerative agriculture, and cultural heritage. It is beautifully filmed and gives a moving insight into the lives of Palestinian Olive growers.
A Palestinian-American anthropologist returns to his ancestral homeland, where he finds the olive oil industry in crisis and leads a community of farmers through fair trade certification, preserving a powerful legacy of food sovereignty, agricultural heritage, and resilience.
The film will start at 7pm.
However, doors will open at 6:30pm. Refreshments will be available and there will be a number of stalls selling Palestinian goods.
The film lasts about 1hr 25 mins. After the film there will be time for some facilitated discussion and we are hoping to have a member of the film production team join us either via Zoom or even in-person.
SPARK Social Justice, working with Pax Christi in the Leeds Diocese, is delighted to be sponsoring this film presentation as part of the 2026 Leeds Palestinian Film Festival
