Synopsis: Three guys working the graveyard shift around a deserted urban college campus try to make it through a long and lonely night on the job.

Review: Influenced by the work of Tsai Ming-liang both in form and subject matter (a slow cinema depiction of urban loneliness), Weeknights distinguishes itself through its sharp sense of

place and by how it captures the distinct rhythms of its environment. The film's overall melancholy resonates, but in its own way, it acts as a tribute to its (and my) Bronx neighborhood.

Director Bio: ALFRED GIANCARLI (New York, USA, 1982). He has been an English teacher, photo editor, press photographer, assistant cameraman, DIT, cinema worker, museum educator, waiter and sound guy. With a bachelor's in Filmmaking from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a master's in Journalism from Universidad de Complutense de Madrid, Alfred returned to filmmaking after a long absence in 2014 with the short film My Wife Is no Longer with Us. In 2015, he wrote and directed Don't Despair, a critically acclaimed indie horror film which premiered at the HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival. In 2017, he wrote and directed the short Hope to Her Register. Weeknights, his newest feature film, premiered at the South Carolina Underground Film Festival, where it won Best Feature. Recently, he has produced, alongside Ben Pakman, the upcoming short film Gettysburg, directed by Joshua Bogatin.

Director Bio: TYLER RUBENFELD (Writer/Director/Editor)

Tyler Rubenfeld is a New York-based filmmaker, graphic designer, and visual artist. Wake Me When I Leave, a mid-length feature he wrote and directed, had its world premiere on NoBudgein 2015.

In 2017, his short film Innards premiered at BAMcinemaFest and went on to screen at the Chicago International Film Festival and Sidewalk Film Festival. Other short films include Ursula Promo, which premiered on NoBudge in 2019, and Another Sinking Sun, which will enter the festival circuit in 2023.

In 2019, he began pre-production on a second feature, Planets, to be shot over the next few years.

He is also an accomplished illustrator and graphic designer. He designs VOD artwork for Ammo Content and Runtime Media, a digital distributor and aggregator. He currently resides in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.TIME
