Come join us for a fun night of film, philosophy, and community at the “W” in the Holter Museum of Art w/ cinematic bottom-feeder & philosopher Matt Strohl. Combining philosophy of art with film criticism, we’ll flip conventional notions of “good” and “bad” on their heads and consider what it is that gives ultimate value to a work of art. By this measure, perhaps some of the worst movies made are also among the best! We’ll consider films like Troll 2, The Room, Batman & Robin, Twilight, The Requin, and more and see if these so-called “bad movies” might actually be key ingredients to a fulfilling aesthetic life.
Event from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Mingling & cash bar starting at 6pm.
NOTE: RSVP’s are not necessary to attend, but they’re super helpful for us for planning purposes. So if you’ll kindly let us know by clicking on our RSVP link below and scratching your name down, that’d be groovy!
