Come join us for a relaxing and creative afternoon at Travelmug Cafe! In this botanical watercolor class, you'll learn how to paint beautiful flowers and leaves with watercolors. No experience needed - just bring yourself and your artistic spirit! Supplies will be provided, so all you need to do is show up ready to have fun and get creative. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, this class is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and unleash their inner creativity.

Beginner-friendly, botanical watercolor workshop

This is a 3-hour workshop where we provide all the materials. We will work in small groups to ensure every participant learns each step. We’ll bring pre-drawn exercise sheets so you don't have to worry about drawing; you can focus on the painting session. We'll guide you every step of the way.

We will learn watercolor basics, how to build up layers, mix colors, and how to paint botanicals step by step. By the end of the class, you'll understand how a watercolor artwork builds up and the techniques used on the paper. You'll also take home a brush and a sample palette with pigments to continue your watercolor journey.

This workshop is designed to be creative, relaxing, calm, and mindful. It's the perfect way to unwind and let your creativity flow in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Our teacher is going to be Reta, the creative force behind StudioReta. Reta is a self-taught botanical watercolor artist from Hungary, now based in Boston, MA. With a passion for capturing the beauty of nature through watercolor, Reta's work is inspired by the intricate details of plants and flowers. Her art celebrates the natural world and all the memories it holds. She loves to share her knowledge and skills with others. Reta knows from experience that learning alone can be hard, if you don't know the right, basic tools and techniques, little help can be life-changing. She has more than 6 years of experience teaching in Europe and the USA.
