Where waves meet roots, cultures find their current.
About this Event
Where waves meet roots, cultures find their current. This afternoon gathering opens with a one-of-a-kind batok fashion showcase — a collaboration between master hand-tap tattoo practitioner Lane Wilcken and Filipino fashion brand Elle Karayan, honoring skin as our first canvas and clothing as a continuation of story. Following the runway, join an intimate panel of Filipino American artists living in Hawai‘i as they “talk story” about navigating their identities, creating art grounded in the Hawaiian community, and finding ways to root deeper into their Filipino heritage. From ink to fabric, music to movement, their narratives are woven from journeys across oceans, shaped by the tides of place, history, and self-discovery.
