About this Event
Join us for an open drawing session with excellent models. This is an opportunity to draw observationally, or paint, and work with models in looks that may include partially-nude and draped, tastefully nude, fully-clothed in streetwear, lingerie/burlesque, curated costume or fashion looks, or any combination of the above. The basis of this weekly session is the human figure, and a diverse and interesting array of models will be present. Each session promises to be inspiring, not just because of our wonderful models, but because of the artists at hand. The session will be uninstructed, with models changing poses, music playing, and artists working independently on their drawings, sketches, or paintings.
BYO art supplies. All drawing, sketching, and portable water-based painting supplies are welcome.
BYOB: those who would like to bring an adult beverage may do so.
Age restriction: Of course, drinking alcohol is for guests 21+. Younger artists (suggested under 18) should bring a parent, because (as is the long-standing tradition in figure drawing ateliers) we may have some tasteful nudity on the model stand. Parents, feel free to contact us with any questions about this being a good match for your younger teenager.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING OR BRUSHING UP ON FIGURE DRAWING, consider taking our Intro to Figure Drawing Class, or Drawing For Beginners, which is a drop-in or ongoing class that gives you the basics of human proportions, gesture, and a few key tips to get you headed in the right direction when drawing humans observationally.
Kindness: We welcome artists of all ability levels, and we seek to encourage and inspire all who walk through our door. We respect our model, our space, and each other- and we have fun!
