Figure Art Sessions (Every 2nd and 4th Mondays)

What is Figure Art?

Also known as Figure Drawing, Figure Art is a practice with an emphasis on learning the shape and movement of the human form.

Unlike most Figure Art classes, we welcome all media and feature live (nude) figure models. We welcome charcoal, paint, clay, watercolors...you name it! As long as it does not require excessive ventilation or other special accommodation that would hinder the artistic experience of the other participants

Poses will be gestural and short to begin and will increase in duration as the session progresses, culminating in either two thirty minute poses or one hour long pose broken up into two 30 minute blocks.

Classes are $10 per person, every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 7-9pm. We encourage folks to RSVP online, but you can pay at the door as well.

Tables and chairs are provided, but you can bring your own easel if you could like.

Wild Goose Creative Figure Art Ethics Agreement

By participating in a Wild Goose Creative Figure Art event, you agree to the terms of personal conduct and use of space listed below.

All participants are required to respect the space. Please understand that most of our props and supplies have been donated or belong to the individuals who make Wild Goose Creative possible. Do not attempt to move any large items yourself. If there is art work on display in the space, do your best to avoid placing yourself or your belongings near the art works. Be aware of your surroundings.

Respect each other. Models will only come to Wild Goose Creative if they feel comfortable. The model is the reason we are all here, so all parties must do their best to be professional. As such, please refrain from the following behaviors while participating in a Wild Goose Figure Art event:

• Asking the model for a date/to hang out

• Ask to take a picture of the model

These behaviors can be triggering for a person who is in a very vulnerable position (naked) while being asked these things and even for some time after the Figure Art session has been concluded.

Short note: If the model did not initiate contact, you are overstepping a line. Please check your language. Compliments are okay, but make sure they aren’t motivated by attraction. Respect all participants no matter their gender, race, religion, social status, or education level. LGBTQ+ and BIPOC are welcome and supported in our space.
