Be your own muse!
In this workshop, you will use your face as the muse to create yourself as a portrait, in watercolor with line-work called, “blind contour drawing”. You are learning how to use pen to draw what you see in an abstract style.
We will discuss the importance of developing technique with the pen and adding the watercolor to recreate yourself in your own style. The last workshop I included different types of paper, including “yupo paper” and watercolor paper, and I will do the same for this workshop, so you can see the effects of blind contour drawing on each of them. It’s a fun way to see yourself many different ways.
A frame is also included in your kit, to frame yourself of course.
All supplies are included.
Teresa Cook was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is an Abstract Architectural Watercolor artist and has been painting watercolor since 2012. She obtained a Bachelors in Fine Arts from UNF in 2012. Over the last 8 years, she has been traveling to different countries as well as around her native city. She has always found pleasure in the landscapes and buildings that have been created over time. Each of her watercolor and ink paintings are created on a smooth paper called, “Yupo”, and are meant to capture a moment in time without the interruption of people, ( show life without the “rough” impacts of people). You will not see human interaction within her art. She just traveled to Amsterdam for the 2019 Urban Sketchers Symposium, capturing the Old and New Amsterdam. She wants to share the world through her eyes. Watercolor Workshops is now in session.
