Stage Combat is for performers of all body types and mobility needs. We ALL have difference in how we move, but that does not mean that we shouldn’t be welcomed into this art form. It just means we need to think a little outside the box with the adaptations we make. There is no “standard” fight for the “standard” fighter. In this class we will take our choreographed fight and adapt it for different mobility needs. Did an understudy come in at the last minute who is in a wheelchair? GREAT – now let’s make the SAME fight work for them. What if our initial actor has limited use of their left arm – fantastic, what creative adaptations can we do in this case?
This is an Intermediate/Advanced Level Class. Previous experience in unarmed required.
Sunday, May 12, 2024 @ 10am to 12noon
at the Reston Players’ Lindsay C. Petersen Rehearsal Hall
266 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon, Va 20170
