It’s that time of year again, Migration at Ft. Pickens!
We will meet and begin our walk at Battery Langdon. If using a navigation, the coordinates are 30°19'10.2"N 87°15'40.6"W
This event begins well before daylight, so bring a cuppa. With any luck we'll enjoy the calls of birds as they migrate in! Once the sun peaks over the horizon, we'll walk around the oak trees, looking for migrants.
From there, we will head to Battery Worth and check out the parking lot, which often has many species.
The birds that day will determine just where we go and for how long we remain at each location, but before we
stop for the day, we will have given finding birds our best shot!
Extensive walking of 2-4 miles on relatively flat ground will be required, however we will rest and take bathroom breaks from time to time.
Please bring water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, and binoculars.
After the event, the leaders will remain at Ft. Pickens for a long lunch break. You are invited to pack a picnic and join them.
The field trip is FREE, however there is a cost to enter Ft. Pickens. If you have a pass, be sure to bring it!
Full details, including our meeting location are on the online registration form, which you are required to fill
out before each event. Link in the Tickets section.

Please do not wear scented cologne, perfumes or aftershave on field trips. It distracts from the experience in nature, and some participants are highly sensitive to it.
