Fiction 101: Understanding Story & Plot is part of a creative writing workshop series presented by Migrant Writers of Singapore and Sing Lit Station, and supported by The Majurity Trust.If you're interested, please RSVP via WhatsApp to Julie at +65 8302 4639. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Novelist Daryl Qilin Yam leads this 2-hour beginner-friendly workshop exploring the important functions of story and plot within a work of fiction. Participants will be talking through the basics of story structure, variations in plotting, and learning how both are crucial to our understanding of narratives.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Daryl Qilin Yam (b. 1991) is a writer, editor and arts organiser from Singapore. Shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize and nominated for the International Dublin Literary Award, he is the author of two novels, a novella and the bestselling short story collection Be Your Own Bae (2024). He co-founded the literary charity Sing Lit Station, where he presently serves as the managing editor of its publishing arm AFTERIMAGE.
