Fibers and Fashion for Kids (Ages 6-10)

Bring your dream designs to life, just like real fashion designers do! In this workshop focused on children ages 6-10, students will learn some of the most basic building blocks of fashion design from Britex's own Professor Lizzie.

During this two-hour workshop, students will:

• Be guided through a hands-on survey of fibers and fabrics, including fine and couture materials from Britex Fabrics' most special selections
• Learn how to pick and choose the right materials for their project
• Create a swatch board for their own fabulous fashion design
• Design and make their own no-sew poncho to wear home
• Show off their new creation with a fashion show

TEACHER BIO:

Lizzie Locker a designer, educator, and performer who has been working with kids since she was one herself. She has taught everything from kindergarten art camps to college creative writing classes. She loves to design and sew her own clothes and costumes, and nothing makes her happier than helping others find their own creativity.
