Fiber & Textile Arts: Sewing, Embroidery, Fabric Dyeing & More

For Ages 16+ - Learn to develop different skills and approaches to both traditional and non-traditional forms of textile arts. After having a chance to sample and master individual techniques, students will create their own artwork combining what they’ve learned into unique textile artworks. Experiment with embroidery, sewing, dyeing fabric, creating cyanotypes on fabric, and much more. You will not be required to bring supplies to the first class meeting. Recommended supply lists will be reviewed and distributed in the first class meeting. Additionally, at least once throughout the session, the class will tour At the Table, a group exhibition on view at the Armory that explores our intimate and communal relationships with food and investigates the many ways these connections were severed or challenged during the 2020-21 lockdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Masks are required inside the Armory for all students and visitors. We are requiring proof of vaccination for ALL studio participants, please note that there will be no exemptions. Please read our onsite class safety protocols
