FFL Home Garden Tour
About this Event
The tour begins at 9:00 AM at the Brevard Discovery Garden, 3695 Lake Drive, Cocoa, where Brevard County Urban Horticulture Agent Sally Scalera will provide a brief introduction to the nine Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Principles and highlight the unique features of the five gardens on the tour, and lead a guided tour of the Brevard Discovery Garden.
Participants will then embark on a self-guided driving tour of five private home gardens belonging to Brevard County Master Gardener Volunteers in Merritt Island, Rockledge, and Satellite Beach. Each garden offers a unique look at how Master Gardeners put Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles into practice at home, with features such as native plants, butterfly and pollinator habitats, edible food forests, rainwater harvesting, wildlife-friendly practices, and water-wise gardening.
Whether you're an experienced gardener or just getting started, you'll discover real-world examples and practical ideas for creating a beautiful, sustainable Florida landscape at home.
Each participant will also receive a Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ handbook to use as a resource during and after the tour.
The registration fee is $20 per person. Advance registration is required.
