Hello everyone!On the first Friday of every month we will be dancing fusion to our heart's content from 8:00PM to 1:00AM. Our event will start with an hour class from 8:00PM to 9:00PM with an instructor every month, followed by social dancing from 9:00PM to 1:00AM. We will have three DJs throughout the night, bringing you a variety of music to dance to. Our venue, Centro Cultural de la Raza, has free parking across the street, beautiful wood floors, and a great atmosphere.
Here's our instructor and DJ lineup for the next First Friday Fusion!
8:00pm-9:00pm: Jesse O’Sullivan!
Jesse started dancing Blues in 2012 in Pittsburgh, PA, and fell in love with the connectivity and collective creativity of the dance. He started fusion dancing in 2013 after moving to San Diego, and has been dancing both Blues and Fusion ever since. He enjoys both breaking down fundamentals and body mechanics and pushing creativity in dancing.
9:00pm-11:00pm: DJ Ringo Sanchez!
Ringo’s dancing and musical addiction started in college, where he was quickly immersed in the very rich and amazing dance scenes in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. His sets run the gamut,
from old hits to newly discovered gems, high energy to ooey gooey micro. He believes that a DJ is such a huge part of a dancer’s experience, and his main criteria for music is that it MUST make you feel like you can’t help but get on the dance floor! He takes great joy in seeing all the smiling faces of people dancing to his sets, and is excited to share this experience with as many dancers as he can!

11:40pm-1:00am: DJ Audrey Pazmino!
Audrey's fusion sets pull themes from many dance music styles, including elements from R&B, pop, reggaeton, funk, disco, house, and hip-hop. She's been dancing Blues, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Bachata, and Argentine Tango since 2011 and added West Coast Swing and a little Kizomba along the way. Audrey loves expanding the community's musical genre and dance movement vocabulary to connect with folks from many different backgrounds.
