Celebrating Fete Ghede
Fete Ghede is the Haitian Vodou Celebration honoring death, life & rebirth that corresponds to All Saints Day, it is a time to acknowledge the Ancestors through feasts and festivities. Red Bike & Green-Milwaukee will end our season honoring this cycle by commemorating passed loved ones and with a ride to adding flowers to the shrines of memorialized community members.
We meet at 10 am, and a ride visiting neighborhood memorials starts at 10:30, we then return to the starting point for food, drink & music. Black, white & purple are the traditional colors worn and face paint is encouraged. Contributions of candles, flowers or food and drink are welcome
