About this Event
Join us for an evening of festive games and fun! We've recruited some of our amazing volunteer Game Masters from TTRPG Tuesday and from the LGBT+ TTRPG Night crew to run some holiday themed FESTIVE Role-Playing Game One-Shots!
To participate in this event, review the options of the different games below and sign up for a seat at the table that interests you the most! We’ll be slinging Hot Chocolate, Nog, Festive Cocktails and Milkshakes and more!
Admission is $10 each (+tax and Eventbrite fees), granting everyone access to both the event, and our collection of 600+ board games before and after the event (provided there is space)!
Please note, some of the TTRPG games may not be suitable for all ages due to some mature themes. We’ve used a rough estimate on what the session would be rated if it were a movie. Be sure to check the description of the game you're signing up for to make sure it's right for you, and if you’re not sure - reach out to [email protected] for more details. Please note that players under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone playing at the table.
Check out the available games below, games have variable start times between 6pm-7pm, and doors open at 5pm!
----------
Join Beck for Dread! Game starts at 7pm.
Rated 14A
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“You and a group of friends settle into a beautiful cabin in the woods for a cozy holiday getaway, classic Christmas movies and cookies and hot chocolate abound! But their festive mood turns to fear when they realize something isn't quite right. Someone... or something... is lurking outside. The car radio on the way here talked about an incoming storm, and it must be getting close - as the power and cell service has been knocked out. With no way to call for help, you all must turn your peaceful retreat into a fortress, using wits and whatever you can find to fend off the possible intruder and survive the night.
Thank goodness you aren't Home Alone!"
Characters will be created together at the beginning of the session.
----------
Join Zack for D&D 5E! Game starts at 6pm.
Rated R (for cursing and crude humour, not kid or teen friendly)
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“Before the festival holidays for the winter solstice, the children of the small town of Nakatomi have been taken by Krampus to his lair in the mountains. The party must make their way to him and stop him from making a sacrifice to the gods of darkness to create a never ending winter."
Characters can be created together at the beginning of the session, or you may bring a premade Level 3 Character using the 2014 Edition of the Player’s Handbook.
----------
Join Greg for D&D 5E! Game starts at 6pm.
Rated 14A, Ages 16+ Only please
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“Your party has been approached by a pair of brightly dressed jingling smallfolk. They say they are merchants and ask you to save their boss from a cult who has kidnapped him before their busiest delivery day of the year! It is up to your party to save this mystery VIP so these jolly merchants can make their very important deliveries."
Please bring a premade Level 3 Character ideally using the 2024 Edition of the Player’s Handbook.
----------
Join Tallis for Royal Blood by Grant Howitt! Game starts at 6pm.
Rated PG13 Kids and Teens welcome!
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“For centuries, all you've ever known is MIDWINTER. The great, somber feast is presided over by the arcane ruler of this city, one of the 22 conceptual deities of the Tarot. You are a half-divine sorcerer and tonight – the longest night of the year – you're going to steal their throne."
Characters will be made together at the table at the start of the session.
----------
Join Alexandre for Vaesen! Game starts at 6pm.
Rated PG13 Teen friendly Warnings are Violence, Death, Child Death (In passing)
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“Cross the Baltic Sea and brave the wintry forests of Ingria, where an unknown being stalks the night beneath glittering stars. Vaesen is a game of monster hunting in an imaginary version of northern Europe, just at the start of the industrial revolution. It uses the Year Zero Engine, easy to pick-up and play and there will be guided character creation. Brace a terrible snow storm while you solve A Winter's Tale!"
Characters will be created together at the beginning of the session, or pre-made options will be available.
----------
Join Nick for D&D 5E! Game starts at 6pm.
PG13 Kids and Teens Welcome
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“Worrisome Winter Woes: Winter weather has turned chaotic! The grove was attacked, and Flint Mosstone needs your help! Grievously wounded, he has called upon the animals that share his grove with him to help not only himself, but the woodland as a whole. Gather the supplies needed to restore the weather to normal and save the dwarven druid, before it's too late!"
2014 Level 7 Pre-Generated Characters will be provided.
----------
Join Gareth for Fiasco! Game starts at 6:30pm.
Rated 14A Not suitable for kids or younger teens.
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“The Last Christmas at O'Hare: The holidays are always busy at O'Hare Airport, every flight through North America seems to end up there. Travellers sleep in the hallways and gates, waiting for connecting flights cancelled by weather. Tempers flare and distractions abound, maybe the perfect place to pull a fast scheme. What could go wrong with all these people bouncing off each other? Fiasco is a game of powerful ambition, and very poor impulse control inspired by cinematic capers gone horribly awry."
Character building will be done at the table as part of the game.
----------
Join Zach G. for F.I.S.T.! Game starts at 6:30pm.
Rated 14A Kids 10+ with a chaperone, or Teens 14+ welcome
Adventure Hook from the GM:
“Years ago, Santa was assassinated by Agents of Hallmark in pursuit of their mission to exploit Christmas for financial gain. You're part of the growing resistance, ready to put your life on the line to take holiday cheer from the corporate overlords and put it back into the hands of the people where it rightfully belongs."
Characters will be generated the day of! No Experience Necessary!!
