🎶Program details
Rāgas are fundamental melodic frameworks in Indian classical music, acting as a set of specific pitches, microtones, and rules for improvising melodies that are intended to evoke specific moods and emotions.
Akin to melodic modes in Western music but without a direct equivalent, each rāga is a distinct musical structure used to "color the mind" and has unique characteristics and prescribed times of performance, such as morning or seasonal rāgas.
The evening will unfold in two acts, guiding you on a progressive journey from darkness to light.
- Act 1 – Rāgas of Stillness & Story
- Act 2 – Rāgas of Light & Celebration
- Including a traditional Indian ayurvedic vegetarian meal.
The experience is designed to spark joy, abundance, and reflection while helping audiences discover (or rediscover) the spirit of Diwali.
