Over 50 species of butterfly have been recorded in the Bristol region, from the familiar peacock butterfly to rarely seen marsh fritillary.Using the incredible historic collections, this is a chance to build your skills in identifying these beautiful insects.
Our expert curators will guide you through the process where you will have the opportunity to study their wing-patterns, colours and form, learn about their fascinating natural history including tips on what to look out for when studying these creatures in the wild. A must for any budding naturalist, hoping to gain expert skills.
Weather permitting from 5:30pm - 6pm we will visit Brandon Hill to record butterflies!
