Thinking Matters presents the Festival of Metacognition
About this Event

The Festival of Metacognition draws together those with a shared passion for developing metacognitive, self-regulating learners all in one place. Gain unparalleled insights from cutting edge researchers and thought leaders, take home classroom strategies from expert practitioners and share ideas with leaders and teachers from across the Thinking School Network. Progressive, informative and inspiring - take advantage of this chance to explore the latest and best practice to successfully develop metacognition in your school.

Our day will begin with our keynote speaker Dr Kulvarn Atwal, Author of 'The Thinking School' where we will delve into 'Developing a Dynamic Learning Community', leading onto your choice of 3 different workshops ranging from; Dr James Mannion speaking around 'Making sense of metacognition: theory and practice for the classroom', to Dr Jenny Campbell highlighting Strategies and the importance of 'Metacognitive Writing' and Rachael Penny and Anna Smith from Stanley Park Infants leading us on a journey through 'Metacognition in the Early Years'.

So its safe to say that if you have a passion for all things surrounding metacognition there will be a workshop suited to you! Also, in between and after our workshops, there will be allocated time to seize the chance to liaise and network with fellow enthusiasts such as yourself!

Furthermore, If you are not able to attend our event, we will be recording all workshops and keynote speakers which will also be purchasable via the ticket option 'On Demand, Curated CPD Footage' This will be released 2 weeks after the conference and you will have access for 12 months thereafter.

We look forward to hearing from you
