Join us for our annual Dia de Muertas Festival, a night of full art, tradition and remembrance honoring those we love and will never forget 🏵️🕯️🏵️
📸 Bring a photo or a small offering for your loved one to add to
our community altar
🪘 Enjoy live performances from local artists and new groups we are excited to welcome this year, including @movimiento_cultural who will bring Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba and @bleachthedragqueen who will bring drag to our stage
🎨 Get creative with art activities including face painting with @imanb.art and zine making with @oyesilencio
🥐 Share traditional pan de muertos from @cakebylorenza, hot chocolate, and delicious pupusas made by the one and only @lacocinadesandrallc
We dedicate the night to the countless lives lost to injustice and violence: victims of trans femicide, police violence, and immigration enforcement violence, and the 19 women and girls taken from us in Connecticut this year alone by domestic and sexual violence. 💜
There is no one way to honor the dead. We weave together cultures and struggles because none of them stand alone.
Saturday, November 7 | 6-9PM
La Cocina de Sandra (25 Temple St)
*Free and open to all ages*
