Inspired by Levantes Dance Theatre’s HUG, coming to Whirligig 26, artists from Weston Artspace and Community Scrapstore North Somerset are teaming up to bring you a playful, hands-on family workshop, where cuddly toys get in on the action.
HUG is a big, pink, joyful embrace of an outdoor show bursting with bold visual design, charismatic dance, and circus. Created by an award-winning, female-led company with a diverse international ensemble, HUG blends aerial dance and physical theatre to explore the ups and downs of friendship with warmth, tension, and joy and culminating in a breathtaking sway pole finale.
Taking inspiration from this vibrant world, this workshop gives pre-loved cuddly toys a new lease of life by transforming them into groovy outfits and accessories – perfect for wearing at the Whirligig Festival of Outdoor Arts (or anywhere you want to stand out!).
Come along, get hands-on, and release your inner child, whatever your age! be part of something truly joyful and unforgettable! All materials, including cuddly toys, provided.
