Experience the magic of the holiday season at Orange County’s spectacular favorite Nutcracker production. Festival Ballet Theatre’s enchanted production transports the audience on a whimsical journey through young Clara’s fantastic dream. The heroic Nutcracker leads his Toy Soldiers into a fierce battle with the Mouse King and his troop of mice and wins the battle. He then leads Clara into a magical journey to the glittering Land of Snow and into the Kingdom of Sweets where Clara meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. All before awaking in her own living room to learn who her dream Nutcracker truly is.
Lavish sets and costumes, life-size dancing dolls, falling snow, waltzing flowers, exquisite artistry from a cast of over a hundred of FBT’s emerging artists and talented students of Southland Ballet Academy, along with a special appearance by world-class artists in each production performing Sugar Plum Fairy & Cavalier give the audience a special and memorable experience. Be swept away by Tchaikovsky’s iconic score and captivating choreography by FBT’s Artistic Director, Salwa Rizkalla in the intimate Irvine Barclay Theatre. Enjoy the beautifully decorated lobby and a unique Nutcracker boutique to complete the time-treasured holiday experience.
