MT:F’Settembru 2025, il-kantant popolari Malti Kevin Borg skopra li huwa dixxendent ta’ wieħed mill-aktar għannejja prominenti ta’ nofs is-seklu għoxrin. Ġanmarì Spiteri Amletu, ħu n-nanna paterna ta’ Kevin, huwa meqjus fost l-aqwa għannejja tas-snin ta’ wara t-Tieni Gwerra Dinjija.
B’kollaborazzjoni ma’ Karol u Jorge Aquilina ta’ Nofsillejl, Kevin għażel numru ta’ kanzunetti minn recordings oriġinali ta’ Ġanmarì Amletu. Għalhekk, waqt l-ewwel edizzjoni ta’ Festgħana, Kevin Borg se jkun qed ikanta pubblikament għall-ewwel darba bħala kontinwazzjoni tal-wirt mużikali ta’ dan l-antenat tiegħu.

In September 2025, Maltese popular singer Kevin Borg discovered that he is a descendant of one of the most prominent għana singers of the mid-twentieth century. Ġanmarì Spiteri Amletu, the brother of Kevin’s paternal grandmother, is regarded among the leading folk singers of the post-war years.
In collaboration with Karol and Jorge Aquilina of Nofsillejl, Kevin selected a number of songs from surviving recordings of Ġanmarì Amletu. As part of the first edition of Festgħana, Kevin Borg will perform these songs publicly for the first time, continuing the musical legacy of his ancestor.
