We are so blessed to have such a wide variety of talented music-weavers gracing our sweet dance! Each week brings a fresh new journey.
This week we have Shakti Rising on the decks!
And we'll be having a Pot Luck/Community Hang/Clothing Swap afterwards!

Warmup begins at 11:30
Doors will remain open for entry until 1pm,--please arrive before then.
Dance entry is $15-30, sliding scale.

You are invited to stay after dance and connect more with community this week! Let's all bring something yummy to nosh on , get cozy, and hang out together! Please bring something to share if you're able, but most importantly let's share ourselves!
Also if you have some threads that are no longer serving you-- bring 'em! Let's have a lowkey clothing swap also while we mix and mill and snack! Why not all the things?! :)

DJ Shakti Rising, aka Sitara has been a dancer her whole life, deeply devoted for the last 25 years. She has spent 14 years in the worldwide network of the Ecstatic Dance scene, including Lake Atitlan Guatemala, Bali Indonesia, Portland, Ashland, Mt. Shasta & Eugene OR, upstate NY & Maui HI, as well as at an abunDance of Transformational Music Festivals & gatherings over the years. She passionately knows the power of music & embodiment as a path to healing, empowerment & liberation through dance & yoga, practice & play ~ to open the body, activate energy channels, get the shakti rising & release energy in a positive and healthy way, while reconnecting to one’s Body, Heart, Soul & Spirit ! * Shakti Rising weaves a diverse full spectrum tapestry of yummy, conscious, high vibe Tribal & World Beats/Bass, Temple/Medicine Bass, Organic infused Electronic, Sacred soundscapes & Elemental infusions, aiming for Ecstatic and Next Level musical musings ~ Born & raised in Portland OR, Sitara is the founder & curator behind Unity Ecstatic Dance Ashland since it began over 4 years ago. She offered her first 3 Ecstatic Dance sets in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2012 & began live mixing in 2023.
Shakti Rising creates a rich & dynamic dance journey to activate opening, release, healing, expansion, juicyness, playfulness, transmution of dense energy and ultimately transcending into heart opening realms of blissfull ecstatic liberation.
WHAT IS SHAKTI ?
Kundalini Shakti is the energy of pure life force, and, in yogic tradition, it is said to be awakened through spiritual practices such as meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra repetition, and yoga (and of course dance & song!!) Shakti means power, energy, or force ~ a powerful yet primal cosmic energy that gives rise to existence. Mythologically, Shakti is always described as feminine, often personified as the goddess, Devi, the divine feminine consort of the divine masculine god Shiva. But at the deepest level, Shakti transcends gender. Signs & symptoms of Shakti Awakening ::: Cathartic release, chakra activation & balancing, full body ecstatic bliss, tingles, feelings of being at one with everything, a zen-like state of consciousness, downloads, transcendent, mystical visions & spiritual awakening.
