Fermented Beats at James Simon's Magical Bamboo Garden

Fermented Beats creates instrumental music with engaging horns, unique effects, and driving drums and bass. Embracing a diverse breadth of genres, from prog rock and jazz to world and neo-classical, the band utilizes the sounds of clarinet and effects to leave listeners scratching their head in awe and curiosity. Rooted in Pittsburgh, this group also explore the abstract, gritty, and experimental nature of their personalities. Inspired by nature, fermentation and the ever-evolving, spontaneous role of microbes in life, they strive to push themselves through odd time signatures and adventurous compositions. Glance around the stage and the merch table and you might find vegetables (likely beets) and fermented products floating about.
