Fentanyl, Social Media, Chatbots and the Risks Facing Our Kids: A Town Hall
Are you a parent concerned about the impact of social media and AI chatbots on your children? Join Blue Rising on September 10th from 6:30-8:30pm in Colorado Springs for an informative discussion on the risks our kids face online and learn from impacted families.
- District Attorney Michael Allen will share up to date information on what is happening in El Paso and Teller counties and the issues our youth are facing.
- Deputy Chief Doug Trainer of the Colorado Springs Police Dept. will talk about what the local police are seeing and ways we can keep our kids safer on line.
- Courageous testimony from families affected by suicide and fentanyl poisoning through deadly drug sales, harmful algorithms and unregulated AI chatbots.
- We will also be giving away Fentanyl awareness and education materials to everyone who joins us.

Blue Rising is a Colorado-based non-partisan nonprofit working to protect youth from the escalating threats of high-potency marijuana, fentanyl poisoning, social media harms, and youth violence.
This generation of kids is facing new and complex challenges that threaten the trajectory of their lives.Through policy advocacy, education, and peer support, we drive system-level change while equipping families to take action. By centering lived experience and building cross-sector coalitions, we are creating a future where young people are protected, supported, and empowered to thrive.
