About this Event

The Alliance Française Ottawa invites you to its next Round Table discussion, on the occasion of International Women's Day.
👉 This is an opportunity to hear from four female personalities who are committed to the environment.

🎙️ Elizabeth Bengle is twice retired. First in construction project management, then as a sustainable development technician in a high school. Since then, she has been raising awareness about climate change by offering workshops called La Fresque du climat, which allow students aged 11 and up, as well as adults, to discuss climate issues and transition.

🎙️ Felicity Borgal is a sustainable transportation project manager at EnviroCentre. Her projects include Bike Month and the Bike Safety Awareness Program, a program delivered by EnviroCentre on behalf of the City of Ottawa. She wants to support a vision of the future where her young daughters can get around town independently and in an environmentally friendly way.

🎙️ Hélène Hébert began her career as an engineer in the nuclear energy industry, an unusual sector for women. Today, she is an entrepreneur and founder of Potager Hélène, where she teaches organic gardening techniques. Through her teaching, her students learn how to grow fresh, pesticide-free food, both indoors and outdoors, even in the middle of winter.

🎙️ Noémie Lebrun is currently completing her master's degree at UQO. She co-founded Résilience Internationale to raise awareness among different populations about environmental protection. The projects specifically target sociocultural minorities to promote equity and exchange in order to increase climate resilience. Proud of her Anishinaabe roots, Noémie firmly believes in the power that resides in each member of the community to promote change toward a more just and healthy society that is in harmony with all living things.
