BCS Fellows are invited to an event on Monday 13th October at the Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford from 10.00am to 5.00pmHosted by Dr Bryn Hammond (Principal Curator, Collections) this visit is an opportunity to learn about the collection from experts.
The visit includes:
• Learning about the future of the IWM collection from experts
• Viewing maps from the collection and learn of their significance
• Hear from IWM’s Head of the First World War and Early Twentieth Century Conflict curatorial team, Alan Wakefield, about the aerial photography collection and their connection to the IWM map collection
• A tour of the main airfield site and hangars in the afternoon
• Learning about the collection objects on display from IWM’s Head of Technological Objects, Rebecca Harding
• Lunch and refreshments will be provided at a cost of £10 per head
