About this Event
Fell

Fell is Nicolas Burrows, Jon Rulton, Matt de Kersaint Giraudeau and Dav Shiel. Fell’s songs are driven by Nicolas’s wry, off-kilter lyrics, considered vocal delivery and playful compositions: jangly guitar-pop and slow-burning pastoral folk sit alongside psychedelic freak-outs and krautrock rhythms. Nicolas’ intimate vocals float on top of woozy seaside organs and tape-wobbled guitars.

Fell’s first record, ‘There Still Are Mysteries’ was produced by Andy Ramsay of Stereolab and played extensively across BBC 6 Music. Currently signed to Lost Map, Fell’s ‘For The Pickling’ EP was released in 2019, produced by Peggy Sue/Landshapes’ Dan Blackett, featuring appearances by David Thomas Broughton and Luisa Gerstein of Deep Throat Choir. During 2020, Fell began ‘Sides’ - a singles project releasing two tracks at a time all the way from
Side A up to Side Z…

Mallows Marsh is Fell’s second full-length album – an ambitious, patchwork record full of mood shifts, flicking
about lyrically through Anglo-Saxon healing charms, pastoral horror, horticultural M**der-ballads, mid-Brexit
snapshots and ruminations on personal myth-making. Sonically it’s full of wobbly guitars and woozy organs, with
chamber-pop arrangements giving way to krautrock, raga and drone-inspired passages. Imagine 70s west coast
psychedelia woven into eccentric English pastoral pop. Think XTC meets Love and Gruff Rhys. Mixed by Dan Blackett, the album features Welsh artist Bedwyr Wiliams and master saxophonist Steve Hamilton
(Madness, Noel Gallagher), with arrangements by Sean O’ Hagan (The High Llamas).

Available through label Lost Map as a very limited CD/Print/Lyric Book set, Mallows Marsh will be available on streaming sites from the 20th January.

"Just like Edwyn Collins at his best" - Joyzine

"Mallows Marsh is an unexpected and utterly welcome delight. An instant hit" - Beats To The Bar

“Beautiful, witty baroque pop ...
very special indeed”
– Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music

Clémentine March

BIO French born British songwriter Clémentine March has released two albums so far on Lost Map Records, Le Continent (2020) and Songs Of Resilience (2021), both reflecting her multicultural roots (childhood spent in France, music learning in Brazil) and her preoccupations, loss, love and transcendence. Her music loosely reunites Caetano Veloso's melodies and Bartók's chords, Pavement and cheesy tunes from a late 20 Century TV set.

2023 will see many releases and several tours, for this show Clémentine will play some new material for the first time.

Arthur Sawbridge

Arthur Sawbridge is a shoegaze violinist based in London, UK.
His compositions blend layers of fuzz, field recordings and loops to create a morose morass.

He takes influence from the cello works of Arthur Russell, the shoegaze of Slowdive and mbv, and the violin and electronic synergies of Owen Pallett and Christopher Tignor.

Eddies, his music for Swimming by Alex Bower, was released in 2021. Gyres, a new piece about ocean currents, washed up in December 2022.

His forthcoming project, entitled knee gnaw, will arrive in early 2023.
