Feel Less Puffy: A Lymphatic Workshop
Do you ever finish a long day feeling like your body is just… a little more everything?
Your rings feel tighter. Your socks leave marks around your ankles. Your legs feel heavy. Your face looks a little puffier than it did this morning. After a long flight or a day spent sitting, your whole body can feel sluggish and uncomfortable.
We often think of these sensations as something we simply have to put up with, or something we need to "flush," "detox," or aggressively massage away.
But your body already has an incredibly sophisticated system for managing fluid.
And movement is a big part of how that system works.
In this 2-hour experiential workshop, we'll take a closer look at what is happening beneath the surface when fluid moves through your body and what your muscles, breathing, joints, posture, gravity, and everyday movement have to do with it.
You won't be memorizing a lymphatic drainage routine or sitting through a traditional anatomy lecture.
Instead, we'll learn, move, experiment, and notice.
You'll explore:
- How fluid moves between your tissues and circulatory system
- What your lymphatic system actually does (and what it doesn't do)
- Why your muscles are important players in moving fluid
- Why breathing and pressure changes throughout the body matter
- How prolonged sitting, travel, and inactivity can influence how you feel
- Simple movement strategies you can incorporate into your everyday life
You'll leave with:
- A better understanding of your body: You'll know what your lymphatic system is doing, how it interacts with other systems, and why movement matters.
- A practical movement toolkit: Simple strategies you can use after sitting, travelling, working, or whenever your body feels heavy or sluggish.
- A different perspective on "puffiness" : Instead of immediately reaching for another quick fix, you'll have a better understanding of what your body may actually be asking for.
- And A few "wait…my body does WHAT?" moments: Because anatomy is much more interesting when you can actually feel it happening.
A note on swelling: This workshop focuses on the normal movement of body fluids and everyday experiences of feeling puffy, heavy, or stagnant. It is not a treatment for lymphedema, unexplained swelling, or other medical conditions. New, persistent, painful, or one-sided swelling should always be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
