Feed Hope, Share LoveSSLSM Joins the ELCIC Day of Action
South Shore Lutheran Shared Ministry will be taking part in the ELCIC Day of Action throughout the month of May through our shared initiative, Feed Hope, Share Love.
The ELCIC Day of Action is a church-wide invitation across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada to respond to needs in our communities through practical care, justice, compassion, and service. It is an opportunity to live our faith in visible and meaningful ways.
This year, SSLSM will focus on supporting local food banks and food pantries in the communities we serve.
How Congregations Can Participate
During the month of May, each congregation is invited to collect donations for local food banks and food pantries. Donations may be brought to your local church throughout the month or brought directly to our shared worship service.

We have also invited local food banks and food support organizations to join us on May 31 and, if available, to briefly share about their work and the growing need for food support in our region.
Most Needed Items
Peanut butter, canned soup, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, cereal, oatmeal, beans, canned meat or fish, mac and cheese, crackers, granola bars, tea and coffee, shelf-stable milk, baby food, diapers, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant.
Please ensure donated items are unopened and within expiry dates.
We hope every congregation will take part in Feed Hope, Share Love and join us on May 31 as we gather in faith and community support.
