Join us 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 at 𝟳:𝟬𝟬𝗽𝗺 for our monthly dive into the 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀! This month we'll be joined by a trio of Bay Area poets, 𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲, and 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲, plus Long Beach's own 𝗥𝗮 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝘀. An open mic opportunity will follow the featured readers.
𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 lives in Oakland, CA. He is the child of Mexican immigrants, currently works in a hospital, dreams of short stories and writes poetry in secret.
𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 (he/him) is a full blooded spanglish speaking Pocho y left handed callejero de Aztlán who has been part of the Bay Area’s spoken word scene for over twenty years. He is the curator and host of the long running monthly Latine reading series Speaking Axolotl and is the author of two books of poetry, 𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘈𝘹𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘴 & 𝘖𝘭𝘥 𝘗𝘰𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴 (Black Freighter Press 2021) and the chapbook 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘪 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘴 𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘴 𝘑𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘰𝘴 (For The Pueblo 2023). In 2023 he was the Poetry Center’s Mazza Writer in Residence at San Francisco State. Along with his bookstore sister Tân Khanh Cao, Josiah tends the portal known as Medicina Para Pesadillas Bookstore y Galeria on 24th Street in San Pancho, Califas.
𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲 is a casually queer, intergalactic Oakland/Ohlone-based chicanx punk poet, working/poor multiple high school drop-out, analog zinester, poet laureate of the San Fernando Valley, and blatant smoker sharing-trauma-with-their-mother. Their debut chapbook, 𝘚𝘍𝘝 𝘖𝘙 𝘋𝘐𝘌, 𝘍𝘰𝘰 was published with Lilac Press.
𝗥𝗮 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝘀 (she/her) is a social justice educator, and an award-winning author and blogger. She specializes in projects that connect communities across digital and analog spaces, and writes regularly at Rarasaur.com. She can be found @rawra.avis
𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝘀 is a monthly poetry series created, curated, and hosted by Los Angeles-based poets and editors, 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗶 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮 and 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼 with the goal of supporting a diverse array of published SoCal authors and the local independent bookstores that carry their works.

The event takes place on the second Thursday of every month and is always free and open to the public, no tickets or reservations required!
