Join us for an inspiring program focused on our leap forward in sustainable transit. Featuring two expert speakers, Mike Rusch from Metro Transit will explore the transformative impact of the new bus system and Zia Brucaya from Greater Madison MPO will highlight sustainable transit resources and emerging opportunities. Learn all about the launch of the all-electric Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, new fare payment, and new bus tracking. Engage with the RoundTrip program, which supports individuals and employers in making sustainable transportation choices.

Mick Rusch, Chief Development Officer, Metro Transit

As the chief development officer at Metro Transit, Mick Rusch leads Metro’s marketing, planning, and IT teams. He is also the team lead for Metro’s new smartcard fare system. Mick has worked at Metro for a number of years in various positions including as Metro’s marketing and customer service manager, customer service supervisor, and media spokesperson.

Zia Brucaya manages the RoundTrip program of the Greater Madison MPO, which promotes alternatives to driving alone in Dane County. She holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the UW-Madison and has over a decade of experience in public engagement and advocacy related to multimodal transportation. Through the RoundTrip program, Zia partners with local agencies, employers and organizations, and conducts public outreach to support walking, bicycling, riding the bus and carpooling. She lives in a one-car household and commutes by bus and telework, and has previously lived car-free in Alaska and Indianapolis.

Access

Doors to the building open at 8 AM, enter the building through the breezeway / main entrance (it’s on the SW side). Registering here gets you on our guest list, please bring a photo ID for possible front door confirmation with security.


Parking

Paid parking is available in the South Livingston Parking Garage attached to the Arts + Literature Lab building. 111 S Livingston St, Madison, WI 53703. Free street parking is generally available nearby.


Bus Routes

The Spark Building is accessible via bus routes A and B.
