Black History is more than a month. Hear the stories and learn about a wonderful resource to uplift, educate and celebrate voices that too often go unheard. Welcome Rev. Derek Terry, a distinguished pastor, social justice advocate, entrepreneur, and artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He serves as the senior pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, a diverse and inclusive congregation committed to social justice and community engagement. In addition to his pastoral duties, Rev. Terry is the Program Director for the Open and Affirming Coalition, a national nonprofit in covenant with the United Church of Christ, where he promotes LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity within the church and broader society.
In 2024, Rev. Terry expanded his artistic endeavors by releasing the Vibrant Voices Coloring Book: Coloring the Stories of Black Visionaries. This 136-page, spiral-bound book features 62 images celebrating influential Black figures and events, each accompanied by detailed information to educate and inspire readers of all ages.
