About this Event
Topic:
Transitioning to ISO/IEC 27001:2022
Speaker:
Jimmy Dilz, Senior Director, Coalfire Certification
Abstract:
After nine years, a new edition of ISO/IEC 27001 (edition 3) was published in October 2022. The latest standard – referenced as “ISO/IEC 27001:2022” – brings new information security domains into focus in alignment with the updated ISO/IEC 27002:2022, published in February 2022. To best understand this impactful new International Standard, it is important to also understand the structure of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the evolution of ISO/IEC 27001, and the accreditation and certification audit processes. While the new standard is less than a “fully revised edition” from the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 predecessor, there are a handful of minor clause changes – in addition to the control changes – to be aware of, and there are key timelines to consider when planning to transition to this new revision.
