Learn what microplastics are, where we encounter them in our environment and what current research is revealing about their potential impacts on human health. Dr Rauert will also discuss practical, evidence‑based ways individuals and communities can reduce plastic exposure and make more sustainable choices.
If you're curious about environmental health, sustainability and simple actions that can make a real difference, this talk is not to be missed.
About the speaker:
Cassandra is a Research Fellow at QAEHS, joining the group in 2019. After completing her PhD at the University of Birmingham, she was the principal researcher for the Global Atmospheric Passive Sampling (GAPS) Network and also worked for the Oil Sands Monitoring Program in Canada, assessing environmental impact of Oil Sands operations. At QAEHS she is the project lead investigating human exposure to microplastics and developing new methods for detecting micro and nanoplastics in human matrices.
